We are a roofing company based on Bath Lane in Mansfield, and we have been working on roofs across Nottinghamshire for over 10 years. Most of what we do is domestic — repairs, re-roofs, flat roofs, roofline and chimney work on the houses, bungalows and terraces that make up this part of the county.
Why we publish our prices
Roofing has a reputation problem, and it is largely deserved. The trade has no mandatory licensing in the UK, which means anyone can print a card and start quoting. The most common way people get stung is not outright fraud — it is being quoted for a full replacement when a repair would have done, by somebody who knew the difference.
So we put indicative figures on the website where anyone can read them, including our competitors. It means you can sanity-check any quote you are given, ours included, before anybody comes anywhere near your drive. Our roofing price guide covers every job we do with real ranges rather than a meaningless "from" price.
How we actually work
We come out and look properly. That means getting to the roof where it is safe to do so, and getting into the loft, because the underside of a roof tells you far more about its condition than the tiles do. You get a written, itemised, fixed quotation with photographs of what we found and an explanation of the cause in plain English.
On the job, we sheet down what is below, keep debris under control, sweep up at the end of every day rather than only at the end of the week, and take the waste away with us. When we are done you get photographs of the finished work, including the details you cannot see from the ground — which is precisely where cut corners hide.
What we will not do
We will not cap over rotten fascia timber with plastic, because it hides the problem instead of fixing it. We will not pressure-wash a concrete tile roof, because it strips the surface that makes the tile weatherproof. We will not bed a ridge in mortar when a dry-fix system will outlast it by decades for a small extra cost. And we will not cold-call, door-knock, or tell you we happened to be working next door and noticed your roof — which is the oldest opening line in this trade and almost never true.
Insurance and standards
We carry public liability insurance and work to current British Standards and Building Regulations requirements — breathable membranes, mechanical fixing to BS 5534, and proper eaves and ridge ventilation on every re-roof. Where a job is notifiable under the Building Regulations, we will tell you at the quote stage rather than after the scaffolding is up. Certificates and policy details are available on request before you commit to anything.
